LMS
GARP LMS is a learning platform at https://<workspace>.garp.aiconec.com/lms, and it appears as LMS on your apps screen. Use it for onboarding and compliance training inside your company, or for product training for customers and partners. Instructors build courses from chapters and lessons; learners work through them at their own pace or in scheduled batches; completion can be certified. Learners sign in with their ordinary GARP ERP account, and every user created since the LMS was added gets the Student role automatically, so your employees can already open it.
Key concepts
- Course — the unit of learning: Title, Short Introduction, Course Description, Course Image, Category, Tags, instructors, and a tree of chapters and lessons. Published makes it visible to everyone; Allow Self Enrollment decides whether learners may enroll themselves or must be enrolled by a moderator or through a batch.
- Chapter and Lesson — the structure. A lesson is built from blocks: text, tables, images, code, uploaded files, embedded video (YouTube, Vimeo, Cloudflare Stream, Bunny Stream), and Quiz or Assignment blocks. A chapter can instead be a SCORM package uploaded as a ZIP.
- Quiz — questions with Maximum Attempts, Duration (in minutes) and a Passing Percentage. Choices and User Input questions are marked the moment they are submitted; Open Ended ones score nothing until someone opens the quiz under Quizzes, clicks Check Submissions and enters the Marks by hand.
- Assignment — a document, PDF, image, URL or typed answer. An evaluator grades it by hand as Pass, Fail, Not Graded or Not Applicable, with comments.
- Batch — a scheduled cohort: start and end dates, session times, the courses and assessments it covers, enrolled students, and live classes.
- Program — an ordered set of courses with its own members. Enforce Course Order makes learners take them in sequence, which suits an onboarding path.
- Enrollment — a learner's membership in a course or batch, carrying their progress percentage.
- Certificate — a PDF built from a print format. The learner claims it with Get Certificate, or a moderator issues them for a whole batch with Generate Certificates.
- Roles — set per person in Settings → Members: Moderator (manages everything), Course Creator (builds courses), Evaluator (grades and runs batches) and Student. Someone with none of these cannot open the LMS at all.
How it fits together
Course ─▶ Chapters ─▶ Lessons (content, quizzes, assignments)
│
├─ self-paced: learner enrolls ─▶ progress reaches 100% ─▶ Get Certificate
└─ Batch: cohort with dates ─▶ enrolled students ─▶ assessments ─▶ Generate Certificates
Common tasks
Create and publish a course
- Open
/lms, go to Courses, click Create and choose New Course. Enter the Title, Category, Instructors, Course Image, Short Introduction and Course Description, then Save. The same menu offers Import via ZIP for a course exported from another site. - In the course outline use Add Chapter, then Add Lesson inside it. Build the lesson from blocks; paste a YouTube or Vimeo link to embed the video; upload files.
- To add a quiz, open Quizzes in the sidebar, click Create, add questions with New Question, then insert a Quiz block in the lesson and pick that quiz. Quizzes and Assignments only appear in the sidebar for moderators, instructors and evaluators.
- Open the course's Settings tab and switch on Published under Publishing Settings.
Enroll your staff in a batch
- Go to Batches, click Create and choose New Batch. Set the Title, Start Date, End Date, session times and Timezone, then Save.
- On the batch, open the Settings tab and add the Courses and Assessments it covers, then switch on Published.
- Open the Dashboard tab and use Enroll under Students to add each learner one at a time. You pick an existing GARP user, not an email address, so create the account first in Settings → Members or see Invite your team.
- For live sessions, connect a Zoom or Google Meet account under Settings → Conferencing first, then use Add on the batch's Classes tab. Without one of those accounts the LMS cannot create a class.
Grade an assignment and issue a certificate
- Open Assignments in the sidebar, open the assignment and click Check Submissions. Open a submission, set the Grade and write Comments under Grading, then Save.
- Certificates are never issued on their own. A learner who reaches 100% on a course with Completion Certificate switched on sees Get Certificate and downloads the PDF themselves.
- For a batch with Certification switched on, open the batch's actions menu and choose Generate Certificates to issue them to the enrolled students at once, setting the evaluator, issue date and template.
A batch with Evaluation switched on works differently: learners book a slot with an evaluator, who records Pass or Fail with a rating and a short summary, and the certificate follows from that.
Track progress
- Open a course and use its Dashboard tab: Enrolled, Average Completion Rate and Average Rating, a Students list showing each learner's Progress, and Lesson Completion showing where people stall.
- A batch's Dashboard tab shows Enrolled, Certified, Courses and Assessments, with the same per-student list.
- Statistics in the sidebar covers the whole site: courses, signups, enrollments, completions and certifications, each with a per-day chart.
- To report on training beside the rest of the business, tables such as LMS Enrollment and LMS Quiz Submission can be queried in Insights.
Setup checklist
- People and roles in Settings → Members. Everyone gets Student on creation; add Course Creator, Evaluator or Moderator where needed.
- Categories under Settings → Configuration → Categories, which is what courses and batches are grouped and filtered by.
- Brand name, logo and favicon under Settings → Customize → Branding, and Settings → Customize → Sidebar to hide the sections you do not use, such as Jobs or Programming Exercises.
- A Zoom or Google Meet account under Settings → Conferencing, if you run live classes.
- The certificate wording. The default is a print format named Certificate; copy and edit it in the desk if you want your own, then pick it when you issue certificates.
For Indonesian use: set Default Currency to IDR under Settings → Payment → Configuration if you display prices, and set Language in a person's Edit Profile dialog to show them the Indonesian interface, which is translated for most of the app. When you schedule a live class the Timezone list offers Asia/Jakarta, so organisers on WITA or WIT have to choose an equivalent zone by hand. Selling courses is a different matter: Paid Course and Paid Batch rely on a separate payments app that GARP does not install, so the Payment Gateway field under the same settings has nothing to point at and checkout cannot run. The only tax rule built in is Apply GST for India — nothing handles PPN. Run courses as free internal or customer training and bill for them elsewhere.
